We chin wag with this cobba dingo about moving to Bondi from sleepy Coffs Harbour, being a young dad, what makes him tick and general life pondering thoughts. Otis is a unique character and does things his own way.
“I don’t think anyone knows what their purpose is in life, I’m already a happy man. The fact i have a son makes me happy. Every night i go to bed happy. I’m never really grumpy or anything. Whats the point of being grumpy?”

While in Portugal this year Juzzy shot a few portraits of Owen Wright for Rip Curl while out of the water. With a story in issue 87 of Surf Europe, these photos found a new home, printed up and distributed out. Owen was great to work with and was keen for scouting locations of his hotel to get the right shot for his 6 page story in SE.
Justin Barnwell recently photographed Otis Carey for Arnette’s latest campaign titled ‘BIG FUN’. In the campaign, Arnette have their team doing fun things that relate to the riders personality. In this case it was a grimey alley way, a home tattoo set and a trusting victim… Otis behind the wheel, a real tattoo actually went down. Respect.
Stop No. 8 of 11 on the 2011 ASP World Title season, the Quiksilver Pro France was as good as they come with the king, a.k.a Kelly Slater and the next generation of ASP World Title contenders announcing their intentions on the world stage. One being the super grom Gabriel Medina, who eventually took out the event taking down Julian Wilson in the final. Justin Barnwell was there in the early rounds capturing the action before heading to Portugal to capture the pre antics of the Rip Curl Pro.
Who would have thought, Surfing in New York City… That’s right, on a recent trip to NYC for the Quiksilver pro, Juzzy took a detour via the subway to the famed Rockaway beach. So ugly yet beautiful it sure is a strange place. Here’s some shots taken on a disposable film camera in-between surf sessions. Oh yeah, it was pumping!
Knack recently created this profile video on Australian freestyle skier Russ Henshaw for REDBULL – The guy shreds! Born in Sydney, Henshaw strapped on his first pair of skis when he was three. A dozen years later, encouraged by national under-12 slalom titles, his parents moved to Jindabyne, the golden gateway to the NSW snowfields. Now he spends most of the year with his passport in his pocket on a world dream snowfields tour; home maybe for 10 days for Christmas in the northern winter, anywhere from his beloved Perisher to New Zealand or even South America during the southern winter.
