Juzzy recently shot shot the Ripcurl music festival in Bidart just south of Biarritz. In what was supposed to be a two day event. A crazy storm came in after the first night and forced the event to be cancelled for day two… No Worries… as Day one was RAD, Stand outs by the frech surf rockers, Le Femme and the energetic guys from The Klaxons rocking the huge crowd on the beach. Good times!

With Juzzy in France he’s getting amongst the summer surf scene. A highlight on the calendar was the Nike Cash for tricks put on by the rad crew at BlueStar Revolution, it’s different to the standard surfing contests, the Nike 6.0 Cash for Tricks criteria is derived from a popular skateboarding format where mind blowing tricks get rewarded with cash. The concept is real simple… the bigger, more technical the trick is, the more money the competitors get. Aside from the competition, Nike 6.0 Cash for Tricks is also about having fun with a live DJ pumping out some rocking tunes to create a summer beach party vibe.

The Camera Club presents SoundSchool by Julian May: A behind the scenes photographic exploration of SoundSchool, a musical journey from Sydney to Delhi, India and back.
SoundSchool is a series of Australian music events and initiatives, raising money to purchase musical instruments, teaching aids and tuition for street children in underprivileged countries. SoundSchool’s debut fundraising event came to life with a rocking gig at The Beach Road Hotel, Bondi in August 2010 raising in excess of $20,000 which went directly toward starting the very first SoundSchool in Delhi, India November 2010.
Local shutter bug, Julian May heard about SoundSchool and fast became their official photographer documenting the SoundSchool journey. In November, 2010 Julian packed a bag (at his own expense) for Delhi, India to document the set up of the very first SoundSchool for the street children of Salaam Baalak Trust.
This debut exhibition showcases Julian’s exploration in a timeline that is SoundSchool’s amazing adventure to date. From the first fundraiser, to the streets and sights of India, the wonderful kids picking up a guitar for the first time to their very first gig!
SoundSchool by Julian May is being exhibited at the The Camera Club, upstairs at the Beach Road Hotel, Bondi Beach. A community-minded bar & gallery that’s dedicated to celebrating creativity through camera-based pursuits. SoundSchool follows on from the success of recent exhibitions including ‘We All Have Teenage Fantasies’, ‘Fancy That!’ and ‘We Stand Sideways curated by Stab’.
“We’re super excited to see SoundSchool bring their fantastic project to the walls of The Camera Club in what will be a show unlike any other to date”. Darryl Nichols, Co-Founder, The Camera Club
Entry to The Camera Club is free of charge with the SoundSchool by Julian May will be hanging on the walls for six weeks, with Thursday nights hosting a revolving schedule of music, food and photography activations.
